It's still true. Physics is physics. The Sony A900's color quality is very highly regarded, somewhat less so than the DMR (for example) but a cut above the typical CaNikon output. It's high ISO performance isn't its strength. One can be very happy with a camera's output until they have personal experience with something better. Given that CaNikon are mainstream and Sony and Leica are minor products in the marketplace it's likely that most CaNikon users haven't had personal experience with anything else.
