Subject: [Leica] IMGs: America's Cup Preliminaries

I have posted a few snapshots of preliminaries to the America's Cup, made
with Leica M8 and Elmarit 90mm, at

http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/OBRYK/Americas+Cup/.

The maximum line of sight (LOS) distances from the camera positions to the
targets were almost 3km or 1.9 miles. Consequently, some of the severely
cropped images do not look too good when enlarged. All exposures made at
f/8. The Elmarit 90 may not be the sharpest tele-M but it's the only one I
own, bought a long time ago.

For much better close-ups, as well as a video of an unplanned nautical
maneuver ("Oracle 5 capsize"), see www.oracleracing.com .

For event schedules and more close-ups see www.americascup.com .

Cs & Cs cheerfully considered.

Oliver

PS the conventional sailing ship is an America's Cup PR party platform
