Subject: [Leica] Nathan's PAD 15/6/2011: playing with my new 12mm lens

On a bit of whim, I picked up a second-hand 12mm Cosina/Voigntlander lens
for my M8. This is the first version, which is not rangefinder-coupled. So
to use it on an M8 or any other M (or screw mount Leica), you focus by
estimating the distance. Given the depth of field involved, this is not hard
to do.

But I played with the lens on my GF-1. Of course, when mounted on a MFT
camera, this lens does focus in the normal way, and as this image shows, it
is eminently possible to achieve critical focus:

But really, that is not what this lens is for. It is a lens you set on 2
meters and do happy snaps, for example like this image at the vet:

Cheers,
Nathan
