It's going to reach a turning point when the Leica camera ceases to
become a photographic tool like a brand new Ferrari isn't the best
driving car for everyday use. Leicas will be relegated to "Sunday
drive" use only.

Phil Forrest

If you go now to a public event - like a demonstration or a sports event -
the chances of seeing a Leica in the hands of a working professional
photographer using it for his work is about 1 in 1,000 by my observation.
Leica is already at the Sunday drive stage and has been for sometime.
M users like me use them because they like the process of taking a photo with
a rangefinder but they don't count on them in a pinch.
