Probably not, actually; several of the components in computer components are 
classed as hazmat substances.  The scrapyards could get a lot of grief that 
way, so they don't take them at all, usually.  (Breaking apart and 
separating the various recyclables is far more expensive here than it is in 
places where nobody cares much if peasants die for no good reason.)  

(Most of the "recycle your computer" deals you see online and advertised 
involve you paying to ship your computer somewhere else AND paying them a 
fee to dispose of it properly.)
