Yes, it does.  This was taken from my front yard, the light was going 
away and I took a little Canon G10 from my glove box.  As Ted says, it 
was sort of "ooooo pretty, click".  Part of the painterly effect is 
grain from the overloaded little G10 sensor even at 100.  Also, I 
wondered why the top of the cloud was out of focus.  A friend pointed 
out that it was probably expanding faster than my 1/1000 shutter speed 
could freeze.  Here is the same cloud a couple of minutes earlier.
