that was the same world where
we received 4% for putting a few dollars from our paper route earnings in a 
simple savings account.
and our folks could borrow money for not much more interest than they 
received in saving.
we were not charged exorbitant fees by the banks;
usury laws were in effect;
the economy was quite robust;
with unemployment in the low 4%;
CEO's earned a mere 5 - 10 times what the labor force earned;
the US GINI index was 37.6 (now approaching 48).
