It's not that the release needs to be "softer" so much as it is that it's just an easier motion for me to brush my finger across the button than to press my fingertip down into the bowl to get the click. Having said, it took me months to get OUT of the habit of automatically advancing after I push the button. I first started using the softies at least half the frames on any given roll would be blank because they were triggered when I put the camera away cocked and lockless.... R.
