We had three - Narrow (mountains), Metre and Broad gauges. There are 2-3
narrow gauge trains - they really look like toy trains - still running from
the plains to some hill stations (Udhagamandalam, Darjeeling), which are
heavily subsidized and don't really make money - they are more tourist
attractions, I suppose. 99.99% of the trains run on Broad Gauge nowadays, I
think that most Metre Gauge tracks have already been converted to Broad
Gauge.
