DOF can only vary from different FL lenses or different F stops or different camera to subject distances.... the BRAND of lens has nothing to do with it. No data here. Color differences from different lens makers has been noted for something like 50 years that I know of... probably longer..... A personal subjective preference is required here and none is right or wrong or better or worse...... Sharpness could be considered a real data point, but (without whisky and) with a tripod would have given more objective results.... As I said, some people have more anal testing requirements than others......and to your point, size does matter if preferred methodology is followed .....
