Thanks for this, Douglas.

I like some of Parr's photography, but admire him more as a speaker and 
thinker about photography.

He manages to be simultaneously droll, wicked, and to-the-point, which is 
quite a trick.

In the article that you linked to, he's got some good advice, including:

"5. Even if you take photos digitally, print them up, make them into an 
album and then caption it.  Though you remember it now, you won?t in 30 
years when you have dementia."

Indeed.
