[Leica] DIY 6-bit coding problems

I guess you mean axial alignment of the the template is critical to  
get the sensor to read the code right.  I guess this is what you mean  
by placement too. Did I read it right?

Only one of my lenses (the Canon 35/2) is LTM, so I think I'll stick  
with DIY coding for now.  However, if I find the coding useful, I  
might well send my lenses to Mr Millich as Geoff says everyone ends up  
doing anyway.

Another question to anyone reading:  I only have 2 IR-cut filters--one  
for my 35 Nokton, and one for my 50 'Cron.  Does this mean when I use  
another coded but non-filtered lens I would be better off changing the  
menu setting from 'Lens detection on + UV/IR' to 'On'?
