For those of you that think that New York City is all big buildings and
seedy panhandlers, be aware that NYC has 578 miles of waterfront offering a
lot of beautiful beaches and marine views. The Gateway National Park extends
across three boroughs and encompasses some of the most beautiful scenery on
the Atlantic coast. The New York Times solicited reader photos of some of
New York's watery landscape. Here are the results:
