Reality is that it is being discontinued because not enough people are buying it to make production and the complex development economically feasible: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=128728114&sc=fb&cc=fp Kodak is not a charity, nor is it an evil empire wanting to deprive photographers of their beloved films. It is a struggling company trying to survive in a changed environment, which its previous managements did not anticipate particularly well.
