I'm with Ric on this one.  Well said.  Much of photography consists of
deciding what you don't want in the picture.  When I was on a college
newspaper staff, I would give a contact sheet to the editor and he would
give it back to me with crops indicated in felt marker, and I would crop to
his instructions.
