I feel you pain. 

I have my data backed up to a raid drive using Timemachine. I've been 
thinking about getting a Drobo, stuffing it with drives, and mirroring that 
to a second Drobo. Still not perfect, but at least one of them could totally 
die and I'd have a backup.
