OK, I checked. SD, CF, and USB Flash drives cost between $2 and $5 a GB.
Small capacity cards (1 GB and less) and very large capacity cards (over 32
GB) cost close to the $5 level while the majority of moderate capacity cards
(2 to 16 GB) cost close to the $2 to $3 per GB level. The best prices can be
found at internet discount electronic stores such as Geeks.com, Newegg.com,
Tiger.com, Amazon.com or Micromart.com. There is no difference in the flash
cards sold by these discounters and by photo stores. All are made by the
same manufacturers. At these prices it is certainly worthwhile to buy a hand
full of flash cards for travel rather than an external disc drive.
