Bo Lorentzen < http://bophoto.typepad.com/bophoto/2009/05/coding-strips-for-zeiss-voitlande r-lenses.html#more> sells a $5 cardboard version, that also works. So does the Dymo Labeling technique, but takes some experimentation to find the right print and spacing.. email me if you need help..... However, if your lens has an easy to remove lens flange, get Milich to mill out the 6 bit code depressions and use some black and white nail polish ( yes, guys, it really does exist) This is by far the best solution........I just got my flanges back today, and it was really pretty easy to do.....took 15 minutes to remove 3 flanges, and the same to put back 2 of them.....$35 each. My Tri Elmar has a spring on it, and I saved that "challenge" till tomorrow...... For lenses that do not come apart so easily, the DYMO or Sharpie techniques are really the only solutions..... but they wear off, and need to be redone..... Last.. if you Google "D-Coder" you will find the original maker, who charges less than the Ebay auction price for a new one.......! Or ask Tony Roma.. he has them for $50.
