Subject: [Leica] Dubious new record

Today a LUG record was broken.

Every day about 20 people join the LUG and about 19 or 20 people leave the
LUG. The total membership is rather stable at about 1100 (up from 1000 after
the introduction of the M8).

A typical new subscriber will sign on, listen for a while, decide that the
LUG is not to his or her liking, and leave quietly. Every now and then one
of them will tell me why they are leaving. Every now and then, somebody
decides to stay. Every now and then, one of the people who decides to stay
gathers the courage to say something.

Today a new subscriber lasted 6 minutes. He subscribed. There was a burst of
off-topic drivel. He unsubscribed 6 minutes later. New record.

Just wanted you to know.
