I've heard that as well, but for a while I had both those lenses, and 
the 'lux stopped down to f/2 certainly was not the same as the v.4 
'cron. Besides the stronger vignetting in the 'cron at f/2, it had 
better performance otherwise, especially with respect to coma and 
astigmatism. It also had better contrast and seemed to have better 
resolution until f/5.6 when they were essentially the same.
