Some back-story: The writer D.H. Lawrence lived for a time - and his
ashes are interred - on a ranch outside of Taos. The late owner of
the La Fonda Hotel acquired a collection of Lawrence's paintings
(allegedly obscene) which he kept in a cordoned off room for private
(for pay, unless you were a friend) viewing.
