Lightning and man on bench reading were the stand outs. And speaking of Perpignan, it looks to be a must do next year. In fact, in front of me is the programme for it. I had forgotten that I had been talking to acquaintances who have an apartment there and had mentioned my interest in going to the festival sometime. Met them last night at our local cinema club, and they handed me the programme in the pub later. I must mention the cinema club: the film Il Divo was on & was well worth going to see. While I thought I was up to speed on politics across the world, the murky twisted coils of Andreotti's Italian political pasta, doused in a sauce of gore and corruption, left me struggling to grasp the full import of everything in the film. I regretted not boning up on Andreotti beforehand, even on Wikipedia... That said the acting, imagery, and dialogue that had me in stitches betimes, has sent me off looking for a suitable book on post war Italy. Douglas _________ Douglas Barry Bray, Co.
