Apple has increased the contrast on the MacBook as compared with the previous generation of flat screen Powerbooks. Try this as an exercise. Open a photo in GraphicConverter. Change the gamma to 1.8. That's what the older Macs are set for. Now increase the gamma to 2.2. This is what is displayed on your new purchase. Fiddle around with the gamma until you get a setting that you like. Then go to Tekserve with the information and have them adjust the display settings of your new MacBook. Larry Z
