Subject: [Leica] 14130 Strap - Are you using one?

Found in the bottom of a box of "stuff" - an olive drab leather strap,
plastic shoulder pad and two beautiful, old-style silver chrome strap eyes
with 1/4-20 threads.? Looks like a strap intended to attach one end to the
camera's tripod fitting and the other to a tripod fitting on a (large)
lens.?

Has anyone used one of these?? Is it comfortable in real life use?? Looks
like a possibly good way to take some stress off camera strap lugs and
possibly the lens flange when carrying a heavy lens.? If it isn't a user
accessory, any thoughts on possible value?

Thanks

John Newell
