Subject: [Leica] Leica Macro-Elmarit-R 60mm f/2.8 Lens

I occasionally see these lenses for sale, but can find nothing on the
mechanism of the lens itself. I am curious about the early version. A few
photos make it appear that the front portion pulls out for macro range, but
I have found no explanation of how this works, or whether or not the lens
must be changed to go from normal focusing range to macro.

Has anyone got one of these, and the time to offer some comments?

Off-list would be fine. jhnichols at lighttube.net
