Comparing the M8.2 to the 8 has been enlightening, a real trip...one
of the subtle, profoundly important features of it, it sports a black
dot, rather than a red dot...

when I finally noticed this frighteningly obvious, beautiful and
symbolic little touch, I realized it explained many of the other
characteristics, that already had blown me away...

among these,

1. its utter discreteness
2. the fact that it has not been noticed, let alone stolen
3. it permits one to shoot away, without the subject even lifting an
eyebrow
4. the clear improvement in the quality of its images, especially the
RAW files
5. the fact that it costs twice as much as an M8....

all of these may explain why I love it...
