The cabin was the home of William Smith, who was the Captain of the minutemen of Lincoln, Massachusetts on April 19, 1775. In addition, he was the only brother of Abigail Adams, the wife of John Adams, the second president of the USA. For anyone interested and nearby, Abigail Adams will "meet" with Captain William Smith in several days on July 19th. http://www.nps.gov/ner/customcf/apps/eventcalendar/events/mimaevent18431265.html or: http://tinyurl.com/me4pr5 These re-enactments are a big hit with the foreigners from places like Michigan, Iowa, California, et., who visit here in summer. ;-) The "cabin" was built in the 1690's and restored in the 1990's... Here are some infrared "One trick pony" shots of the house taken about three weeks ago: http://www.hemenway.com/MNHP-isDS-IR-06132009/ Best, Jim Alastair Firkin wrote: > Lovely colours: like the captains cabin best.
