These images were resized only. http://www.daverodgers.net/leica/image1.htm I've done real world comparisons of the R lenses versus a number of non-R lenses. I can summarize my findings in one comment. Leica lenses -- even the older ones -- are special. Using R lenses on a D700 has minor quirks, but is pretty seamless. Obviously it's not for people who are wedded to autofocus, as a lot of people are today it seems. I do use the focus assist quite often, and I like it. I'm constantly amazed at the high ISO performance of the D700. It's a nice combination when both camera and lens are designed to perform well in low light. DaveR NO ARCHIVE
