There are no random ( 1 to 11) numbers on my Pentax Digital Spot
Meter....... 

Whatever happened to EV numbers?  Did the Japanese forget about them?

In practice you don't look at f stop numbers but 1 to 11 regular numbers in
a system Yoshihisa Maitani designed to make using a 35mm camera more
accessible. I revisited at first. But then went with the flow. The force.
