If you're looking at Mac Pro memory, folks claim that having heat
spreaders that are up to Apple's specs (which specify more surface
area/cooling capability than the simpler PC specs) is important.
Otherwise they'll warm up and the mac will run the fan faster (more
loudly) to compensate.
