With Nikon already going this route, Leica wasn't too far off the mark in thinking that its consumer base would pay for upgrades. "Nikon has announced a memory upgrade for its flagship D3 DSLR.... Owners wishing to upgrade are advised to contact their local service center. The price will be ?300+VAT in the UK, and $500+tax in the USA." Source: dpreview s.d.
