The Red Flag 20 was commissioned by Madam Mao herself. Most collectors view
it as a copy of the M4, not the M5, as it has no light meter. In addition to
the 50/1.4, a 90mm M mount lens was also made, both lenses closely
resembling the Leica originals. Only a few dozen were made. Until the recent
Hexar RF and Cosina stuff, I believe it was the only non-Leitz M camera.
