I have never gotten *that* low of contrast with the 50/1.5 Summarit. Is
there any cloudiness in the lens? When I bought mine about 7 years ago, it
had really never been used and had received very good care
(climate-controlled house of a relatively wealthy, clean man), the in the
inside elements had terrible fungus. John Van Stelten cleaned it up, and it
is pretty much on a par with normal lenses, even wide open, when it comes to
contrast.
