seems like the real answer lies in seeing differently and expressing  
differently the vision, without resorting to tricks purely  of a  
technical nature...

excuse me as a non artist...without any formal training, for trying to  
express these deep thoughts (for me) to experts...

I perceive that innovative technical tricks often take away from the  
artists vision, rather than adding to it... superficially the tricks  
grab attention...as they lead to failure in the long run.

and I can see why George... but for me this shows us a one trick pony...

if the artists vision is so acute,  why does upside down make it  
better...?

or is it only because it is different,  and therefore grabs  
attention...?
