The button assembly is where the problem is.  4 screws, nothing goes 
'sproing'.  I suspect the friction pad under the thumb button is worn or 
dislodged.  Be sure not to over-tighten the screws on re-assembly.  Might be 
best to send it to DAG, a few years ago (2002?) he cleaned/lubed/fixed my 
560 for $50
