Subject: [Leica] Re: Seeking advice on the merits of the M7 and MP

I faced the same choice dilemma some time ago.

At first I bought an M7. I quickly learned to hate the on/off switch. I
found the camera ugly (and as an object hanging across my chest or on my
shoulder, this was more of an issue than I care to admit) and feared that in
no time at all its unique electronic system would be beyond service
facilities.

I later bought an MP. It was operationally familiar in every way, looked
right, and is probably not so tough to service by any Leica technician.

Bottom line: if you are an old-time Leica user, buy the MP.

If you are new to Leica and have no problem changing cameras every 3-5
years, get the M7.
