I use both cameras and while I use  the M8 with the M21mm, in my 5D is 
very often the new Canon EF 16-35mm f2.8 L II with incredible sharpness. 
Concerning the two pictures you've shown us I like more the Canon one 
however the M8 is my preferred camera.
