They are generally about 30 feet. They look like skinny, second rate
telephone poles, complete with tar and creosote all over the outside
of them. The concrete slab is reinforced with steel mesh. But it will
crack. Companies down here specialize in pumping mud under houses that
have had sinking surroundings.

We also have some fire hydrants that are about 6 feet high...at least
now they are.
