Subject: [Leica] M5 Question

Bonsoir,

The M5 is it, so far as what Leica M cameras offer, from a user's point of
view.  With the M5 you get;

1- Speeds visible in the finder
2- Aperture close/open indicator in the finder (that's what the little
circles are for at both ends of the metering scale, check them out)
3- Metering area visible in the finder for various lenses (that's why, in
the case of the 135mm lens, the rangefinder patch is rounded at both ends!)
4- Continuous metering scale, as opposed to on off type of metering scale on
the M6 and others
5- Battery check lever and indicator (in the finder)
6- Ratcheted rewind lever (will not spin back if your fingers slip when you
rewind)
7- Nice big speed setting dial
8- Very informative data setting dial on the back
9- Typical Leitz (as opposed to Leica) build quality (this is not meant to
be a troll...)

From a user's point of view the M5 is the very best M. Now if Tom could
build a rapidwinder for it...

  Best,

  Robert (Un chevalier sans blason)
