Subject: [Leica] Harvesting the wheat

This Millais - Gleaner thread, together with yesterday's announcement of the 
death of Kurt Vonnegut, has gotten me thinking about this other example of 
19th french realist painting, The Stonebreakers by Courbet:

  Anyone who has ever taken art history has seen this image - it's in all 
the texts - even though it now only exists as a photographic record. The 
painting was destroyed in Dresden in 1945.
