There are several variations of a basic 30mm extension tube that have a variety of compatability issues. 1. the 1:1 extension tube for the 60mm Macro-Elmarit-R. It allows full aperture metering and is found in both 2-cam and 3-cam flavors. It has a shroud that covers the lens' aperture ring and that also locks out most other R lenses, and its own f/2.8 to f/22 aperture ring. Code number 14198. 2. similar to the above, intended for the 100mm f/4 Macro-Elmar-R. its aperture ring goes from f/4 to f/22. I don't know if it was ever made in a 2-cam flavor. Code number 14262. 3. the 14256 Macro-Adapter-R: most lenses will fit and it will meter at full aperture on R bodies. Will not fit any Leicaflexes w/o modification. After modification this extension tube may be used as before on R bodies and can be used on the SL and SL2 with stop-down metering. 4. the current ROM extension tube, I think it's code number is 14299 (plz correct me if I'm mistaken). Same lenses as 14256, same bodies. Modification to fit the SL and SL2 usually involves removing the ROM contacts. 5. the Universal Extension Tube-R, my custom modification of the 14198 or 14262. A wide variety of lenses can be used on it and it meters accurately at full aperture on all Leica reflex bodies except the Leicaflex Standard. Code number UET-R These are all 30mm long and have auto-diaphragm coupling. The UET-R is available by request for US$125 plus shipping (is it still friday?)
