Well, I can see why the micrometer rail and parallel planes is the way to go
(otherwise one window is closer than the other), BUT . . .

The proof is in the pudding.  By twiddling the roller cam I now have a
Noctilux that gives me in-focus pictures, both near and at infinity.
Previously, it was a very expensive paperweight.

So, done testing, out shooting.
