About 10% of LUG members are not native speakers of English, and most of
them also live outside North America and hence are not exposed to North
American television. Can you explain the phrase "pimp my ride" to someone
for whom "pimp" is not known as a verb and "ride" is not known as a noun?
(And then there's the series currently running in Doonesbury, "pimp my
gimp". Don't even try...)
