Really the first one does nothing for me. The composition is flat and the
background is un-necessary: I suppose I mean the suject should occupy more
of the frame, and that's exactly what you have done with the second image:
a interesting and graphic compostion which makes good use of the dark
background to highlight the leaves in all their glory:
