Process matters.
Final image matters.
If you're creating a fine art print - the final image is all that  
matters.
If you're creating a legal document - process is all that matters.
If you're creating a scientific document - process.
If you're creating a documentary photograph - both final image and  
process matter.
If you're creating a journalistic record - both matter.
