  Well, this is a pleasant thread! With the guillotine, you get 15(?) 
seconds more of consciousness because there is still blood in your brain. 
Somebody just published a book (title: "Severed", I think) of possible last 
thoughts. I think you get about 50 words or something like that....

Sorry, my aging computer misread my aging fingers....As I mentioned, 
here comes the guillotine and then what? Are you in for a head first 
tumble? Somewhere remember reading about beheaded Frenchmen blinking 
after the blade falls? Aside from curing their snotty attitude what else 
happens?
