I have had a number of Ms now though no where near as many as some on
this list. Never had a second thought on loading. Just do what the
diagram says and away you go.

Then I bought my first brand new M, a silver TTL. It will mis-load
every time unless you also flip open the back and wiggle the film
edge past the film gate. I thought I was going crazy and I have had
two different Leica techs look at it to no avail. Then I bought a
lightly used 0.58x TTL and sure enough the damn thing loaded like
butter. What is up I am not sure but I do know that if you are having
trouble loading an M camera it may not necessarily be your technique.

I prefer M loading to any other, especially my Nikonos. Now that is
an involved process!
