I think the new digital body which I hope to get the second it becomes
available if not before will regenerate my use of my Noctilux which I keep
stored in a Faberg? egg behind a bullet proof crystal case built into my
wall with laser beams which you can see when I burn my French fries
.
A 50 is a useful focal length sure and at f1 but a 66.5mm f1 lens could get
me just clicking away all over again. Grabbing all kinds of stuff. "People"
in particular. And that's what the M8 would turn out 50's into. In this
cases a 66.5mm f1 lens!!!! Now That's a horse of a different color!
To me a "People" lens is a lens with a little grabbing power. Just a little
longer with just a narrower angle of view.
Which a 50 in 35mm format shooting already is.
As normal for 35mm film format is 43.3mm,
Closer to my 45mms which feel way different than shooting with my 50s. More
than 5mm would seem to indicate.

True normal for 6x6 film format is 80 which is a lens quite easy to get your
hands on while shooting that format and it all seems so easy in various
funny ways.
As its not a short tele or long normal lens like a 50 really is with 35mm
film. And that even takes into account how much difficult medium format
shooting is over 35mm format shooting anyway.
If you catch my drift.
