I had a HS Latin teacher that wore a bow tie..... I lived in New Jersey.
Had a boss that would sometimes wear a bow tie... he lived in Boston
Known a lot of other people in Boston that wear bow ties.
Know no one in California that wears a bow tie,

Must be a Right Coast thing......
