Don:

I have a friend with the first of the full frame Canons.  Lots of 
artifacts and noise in low light/high ISO situations.  Doesn't hold a 
candle to my humble DS.

Perhaps the new full frames are better?

P.S. Pentax has announced a forthcoming 10mp, same chip as Nikon D200. 
It'll be interesting to see how noise is handled on images from the 
denser chip.
